About ACTA
Our practice inhabits the space between precision and atmosphere, where rigorous thinking meets the ineffable qualities of light and air. We work across scales – from intimate interiors to urban frameworks – each project an exploration of essential elements: material presence, spatial sequence, the quiet performance of passive systems. The result is architecture that exists both as shelter and as a lens through which to experience place, time, and gathering, guided by an unwavering pursuit of the essential.

About Lucy

Through early years crafting luxury skyscrapers at KPF and foundations laid at Cornell, Lucia Bassetti-Blum has emerged as a distinct voice in Los Angeles's residential landscape. As co-founder of Acta Studio, she orchestrates spaces that capture the city's unique character – where indoor and outdoor boundaries dissolve, and sunbaths become a material unto themselves. The resulting homes are meticulously composed studies in scale: from the choreography of daily movement to the precise expression of architectural detail. Each residence stands as a careful calibration of space, materiality, and light, shaped by rigorous technical expertise and an intuitive understanding of how we inhabit home.

About Cris

Through formative years reimagining residential, workplace and urban futures at both BIG (Bjarke Ingels Group) and Gensler, plus foundations built at Cornell University, Cristina Medina-González has established herself as an architect who transforms ordinary spaces into expressions of possibility, shaping experiences as much as environments. As co-founder of Acta Studio, she orchestrates spaces that blur the boundaries between innovation and tradition – where retail environments become cultural landmarks, and sustainable design shapes human experience. Her work, from the Arch Daily award-nominated Caracas Bakery in Miami to the visionary Toyota Woven City masterplan, represents a careful dialogue between form and function. Each project stands as a thoughtful exploration of space, light, and purpose, driven by technical precision and an inherent understanding of how architecture can transform the way we live, work, and connect with our environment. Her architectural approach to problem-solving transcends design – leading an Amazon-partnered logistics venture, she applied the same mastery of space and scale to organizational development, growing from 5 to 80 team members and company’s revenue in only two years with the characteristic precision she brings to her built works.

Most representative projects include:
2XXX - Company Title
2XXX - BIG Toyota Woven City
KING Residence (BIG)
Google HQ Mountain View (BIG)
Google HQ King Cross (BIG)
UN’s Oceanix Floating City (BIG)
Hongqiao Theater (Gensler)
